Preferred room and flatmate description

I am an exchange student from Canada coming to Aus at the end of February. Looking for a place with a few roomates that are down to earth and easy going. I love to have fun, but know how to study at the same time. I love to snowboard here in Canada, so surfing lessons are a must! I am going to UWS Bankstown and Paramatta, but am looking for a place close to the CBD, or a place close to a beach if transportation to uni is easily accessible. I have never been to Australia, so roomates who are going to show me a good aussie experience are certainly what I am aiming for.
